I don't really celebrate Thanksgiving but we are pretty grateful for having a day off from work on a weekday to catch up with family and friends, some who I rarely see with our busy lives. Every year for the past few years, my family and I would attend attend friends' house for a huge feast of Turkey.. and Asian food. I think every year, my friends somehow outdo themselves with the Asian Thanksgiving food and the turkey. This year was two ginormous looking turkeys with stuffing, american styled mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, yam-- then the Asian food: egg rolls, asian "salad" with shrimp and veggies (looks similar but is better than sauerkraut), a ginormous seasoned ham roast, some sort of bizarre looking, unfamiliar sweet potato desert-like treat with roasted marshmallows on top (maybe that's not so much Asian but an Asian made it :P), and tons of desserts. The other ritual Thanksgiving after we fill up our bellies was checking out Twilight. We saw the 1st and then the 2nd Twilight movie the following year, then ended that, because some of us weren't digging the movie. It was about 6 hours of our lives we couldn't take back, but maybe fans of the series like it better, which is cool. I just was not digging the movie.. I thought the preview was better and thought "Too much sniffing and not enough action," but that's just my opinion. I was convinced from the 2nd preview that there would be more action from Jacob considering in real life he's a world championship martial artist. (I'm totally into the martial arts movies). Oh well, maybe another decade.
