Another tasty experiment that kind of looks like nasty Shepard's pie with mystery meat. I needed work lunch for the week. How did I come up with this combination? I don't know. I just took whatever ingredients I already had, and combined them. It was easy, cheap and surprisingly yummy.I cooked a pound of pasta in a pot, following the directions on the box. Separately in a pan, I cooked thawed ground turkey, with water (if I don't want to use olive oil), sprinkling generous amounts of italian seasoning for flavor. When the turkey is almost done (is brownish), I melted 1/4th-1/3rd of the 8oz block of cream cheese, mixing in with the meat. I saute the corn into the meat mixture, then added the drained pasta, mixing everything thoroughly, distributing everything evenly. Yields about 6 meals. In case you were wondering about costs: Pasta: About 33 cents per pound back in 2007, about $1.50 now. Ground Turkey: about $2 per container, which has over a pound of meat in it. Italian seasoning: 50 cents to $1 a bottle. Corn: 3 to 5 cans per $1 at the time. Cream Cheese: about $1 on sale
