Pimple Solution Tea

So I was at the Asian superstore, when I came across this special tea, "Pimple Solution Tea."  Snapped a (low quality) cell phone picture of it.

Having been a long time acne suffer myself, that definitely caught my attention.  I was curious, intrigued, but a little scared to try ingesting anything that claims to clear acne, especially not being familiar with the ingredients.  I can't remember the ingredients, so looking it up now, according to eyanghealth.com, the ingredients are: Root of indigowoad, honeysuckle flower, weeping forsythia herbs and green tea leaves.  I guess those ingredients sound natural, but if I really wanted to try it, I'd look up each ingredient.

So, I'm not sure if "Pimple Solution Tea" really works.  If any of you tried it or will try it, drop me a note and let me know if it works.  I found a discussion forum with response from users who tried the product or something similar:  http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Chinese-Pimple-Tea-t174799.html   Some wrote that it worked, and some wrote that it didn't.

I'm not the typical tea fan at all.  For the longest time I didn't like tea at all, (disliked the taste and essence), until found this tea shop that sold tea originating from all over the world.  The green tea they have is REALLY green, unlike the common ones found in some of the Asian restaurants and store shelves, that when brewed, comes out a brownish color.  The teas also didn't have that strong tea essence taste that I greatly dislike.  I tried their Pomegranate green tea and Peach tea (flavors built in the leaves), which had a pleasant fruity essence instead.  Served warm or cold.

Knowing teas claimed health benefits, and that it's full of antioxidants, I ordered the leaves and drank a glass at home each day, brewed warm.  To my surprise, I noticed my skin became clearer.   Then I noticed when I stopped drinking it, my skin would break out again like usual until I drank it again.  I wasn't sure if it was a coincidence, or it was the foods I ate, but considering the slight changes in the foods I ate which started to include more antioxidants (dark chocolate, dark fruits, etc), and consumption of tea, it seemed to be the reason; there were no other explanation I could think of.  It could depend on the person as well.

Although sources may say that foods causes acne is a myth, I believe there is truth in "You are, what you eat."  If you're not eating healthy, you probably won't look as healthy.  Genetics also likely has some factors in severe acne, (I'm not the only one in my family), and my drastic change in diet, years ago, when I ate campus food, which I wasn't used to, caused my body to react differently which included breaking out severely.  So I will continue drinking my tea and eating dark chocolate.  Meanwhile, if there's anything that works for you, share it with us!
