Have you ever been to a Thai restaurant and order fried bananas? If they advertise it right, they'd use bananas and some sort of batter around it. But one time

at dinner with friends, one ordered fried bananas, but the waiters came out with fried plaintains instead, which tasted weird because plaintains are better salted, not sweetened. My friend was very disatisfied.

So shortly after, I tried an experiment with bananas, sugar, and almond extract (real rum tastes good as well). I mixed in a little water with some sugar and a few drops of extract. If you're concerned about the alcohol, real rum actually has less percent alcohol than flavor extract, (because the flavor extract you get in the store is as high as 95% alcohol). However cooking it burns the alcohol, so you actually can't get drunk off these treats anyways.

I thinly coated the slices of bananas with it, wrapped it with eggroll skins and deep fried. Believe it or not, my friend told me she liked it much better than the restaurants and when I brought it to a party, people said it was very tasty and devoured them all!
