The first time I heard of Lady Gaga was before she became really famous and went viral all over the radio and the media. She made a bizarre performance in Vietnam during the Miss Universe 2008 pagaent for her song "Let's Dance." The above clip shows the swimsuit competition portion of the pageant, where the contestants dance, then do the cat walk in between the song. Very creative. The 1st time witnessing Lady Gaga's performance on TV I found the song, the fashion, and dance really bizarre, but I really liked it because it reminded me of the 80s. My parents had the TV on, I heard the "Let's Dance" electronic intro from the distance, and had to check it out. Lady Gaga had what looked like a one piece, super shiny pleather looking attire, yellow blazer along with a really pointy coned shaped shoulder pads, (an exaggerated version of 80's influence). Her partial belt were layered chains, and her head half covered with a hood. The Lady Gaga fly girls were also in black, also dancing uniquely on the side. I did some research shortly after (I think WIKI) and found out that Lady Gaga used to write songs and do back up vocals for big pop stars. She has written songs since she was little, sang, and played the piano. She had to work her way to support herself to the top.. and decided she wanted to get out from behind backstage and take over the front state, acheiving "The Fame" and she did it, featuring "theatrical performances." Her outrageous fashion (that she designs herself) gets people talking and that's the idea. Yes, even though her recorded songs sounds autotuned, Lady Gaga can impressively sing live AND have theatrical performances. I found a live performance with a piano version of "Poker Face" in the beginning of the song, then the regular version. It seems like either people really love Lady Gaga, or really love to hate her. Either way, I know the haters might hate me for saying this, but I think she's bizarre, in a good way, unique, could really sing, dance, be creative, and redefine fashion, and create entertaining musical performances for the audience. I respect her for her multi-talent as it is rare to see such original creativity in the industry. Like It? Share it!
