Silhouettes in the Static
By Markus Pope

sometimes I stay up late surfing
the net to catch glimpses of you
all I can see is the static
not a trace of the soul I knew
scanning over page upon page
staring at byte after byte
you sure do disappear well, my friend
like a thief into the night
two hundred thousand news groups
too many web sites to do
it's me going insane in this static
and it's me that will find you
in a world where everything's hidden
and nothing stays the same
I know that I can find you
I know your soul and not your name
I see silhouettes in the static
I see your writing on the wall
I'll end my life searching, I promise you
and I'll find you through the noise of it all
