We Were Once
By Phuc
written on: Mar 28 2006

We were once friends,
but you lost them and me in the end
Friends became foes,
something we didn't know
Fame, money, power,
turned sweet ones sour
Blood, sweat, and tears,
after all these years.

We were once family,
but that meant nothing suddenly
Suppressed voices unspoken,
because the trust has been broken
You can't even admit,
the torment that you spit
Constant defenses and excuses,
are nothing to me but useless.

We were once one,
do you even care that we are done?
You only see
what you can take from them and me
Blinded by greed,
demands that you feed
You think you have gained,
but you have caused so much pain.

We are now apart,
resulted from many cold hearts
I was ashamed,
I was easy for you to blame
I represented,
the false things you all presented
Those who have left like so,
must move on and let go.
