What I Have Done Was Done To Me

i wake to see the angel fade
i rise to open the window shade
i hear her voice inside my head
i fall to weep upon my bed


her words pierce me through
to find the hidden things i rue
she opens me exposes thought
thought well hid amongst the rot


she lays my sins up on the wall
judgement day has come to call
reading through my every sin
front to back to front again


her panel stands to call my crime
misuse of body abuse of mind
what say ye soul in your defense
perhaps a victim of circumstance?


stand you there and call my name
make me bow my head in shame
what i have done was done to me
judge me now or set me free


sure some fault is mostly mine
for that i guess i'll do my time
sentence me for the part that's me
but chalk the rest to history


say we that we are most impressed
we see at a point your life distressed
that fight we see you'd never have won
for that we will punish the other one


for remaining sins we know are you
we sentence a job for you to do
collect the thoughts for us to judge
amongst the rotten shall ye drudge
