Stained Glass of Imperfection
By Phuc
written on: Nov 09 2009

Tired of living
through the stained
glass of imperfection
through your eyes.
Because I cannot be
everything everyone wants
me to be.

I'm a failure.
I'm not worthy
of your approval.
My competition will always
be better and
stupidity remains since
the day I was born.
Success beyond reach
because all you see
is that there is someone wealthier
or going to be.

I feel nothing but like
the dirt stain in your sole.
Stepped upon.
Permanent and unwanted.
You try to fix it,
clean it,
but it will forever remain.

Not wise enough.
Not strong enough.
Not smart enough.
Not beautiful enough.
Money continues to define
my worth,
Your worth,
everyone's worth.

Dissatisfaction against
what I've become.
Shooting me with nothing
but discontent
all the way to my grave.

The perfect sister, daughter,
friend, girlfriend, role model,
...will never be me.
