Disconnected
By Phuc
written on: May 21 2011

Disconnected
from people around me.
I try to dissect it
but the blind refuse to see.
I try to accept it
but I cannot be free.
How can others expect it
for me to be me?

Lost in the world
Lost within
I just want to live
in my innocence.
I'm disrespected
Me and my intentions
are just deflected
I cannot win.

The bitterness in others
from fear consumed
Accusations
because they just assume.
A book with a cover
in an empty room
doesn't ask to be judged
but is judged too soon.

Pages are written
before they are read.
Screaming to be heard
but silenced instead.
The story it holds
kept hidden inside.
The chapter unfolds
Truths that were denied.
