The Darkness
By Phuc
written on: Jul 2011

Black smokey clouds
slowly dispersing
engulfing,
consuming
within.
Mind & body
tainted,
contaminated,
with hazardous
thoughts,
emotions.
Self distraction
mind mutilation from
Hurt,
Rage,
Vengeance,
Fear..
Desiring resistance
Battling
The Darkness
that is choking,
suffocating
with its smoke.
Smother it,
Tame it.
Alarms go off
wailing for mercy as
Strength overcomes it.
But the darkness
hibernates
undestructible
waiting for a crack
an escape
to seep out
overflow,
overpower.
Smearing its path.
Leaving a mark.
The abyss
within the body
holds it.
It's always there
waiting for its next
strike.
For something
or someone
to ignite
with the friction
hiding within
so that the flames
will eat oneself alive.
Burnt,
charred,
scarred.
The odor resulting
unpleasant,
unbearable,
decadence.
Only one thing can save me
from the spontaneous combustion
and protect me from the shadows
so I rise like a phoenix from the ashes.
